INTERNATIONALE CONFERENTIE “CALEM BRUSSELS 2011”

Op 10, 11, 12 december 2011 gaat de Internationale moslimconferentie “CALEM BRUSSELS 2011” door.
Merhaba organiseert deze conferentie rond het thema « Vrouwelijkheid, mannelijkheid, gender- en seksuele diversiteit : islam als een inclusieve cultuur, een spiritualiteit van universele vrede ». De conferentie wordt georganiseerd met hulp en advies van de holebi-en transgender moslimorganisatie The Inner Circle (Zuid-Afrika) en is in samenwerking met Bedayaa (Egypte-Soedan).
Op deze conferentie mogen we een aantal gerenommeerde internationale sprekers verwelkomen, waaronder:
Amina WADUD (US), is universiteitsprofessor en een beroemde moslimfeministe, die zei: “The oppression of sexes is (…) opposed to Islam and it is for those who are aware of the complexity of human existence to create a living reality that challenges the oppression of gender or any other form of oppression based on race, class, ethnicity or sexual orientation” – meer informatie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amina_Wadud
Muhsin HENDRICKS (ZA) is een Islamgeleerde met een achtergrond in Klasssiek Arabisch en Islamitische studies, behaald aan de University of Islamic Studies, Karachi Pakistan (1990-1994). Hij is imam (religieus voorganger) en mensenrechtenactivist met gender en seksuele diversiteit in de Islam als focus. http://www.theinnercircle.org.za
Abdennur PRADO (ES), voorzitter van de Junta islamica catalano, organiseert jaarlijks een conferentie over moslimfeminisme en organiseerde in 2010 een conferentie over islam en homoseksualiteit. Hij is er van overtuigd dat Islam en homoseksualiteit niet onverenigbaar zijn.
Met deze conferentie beogen we als organisatoren enerzijds een hart onder de riem te steken van mensen die worstelen tussen geloof en gevoelens, anderzijds willen we bijdragen tot een meer genuanceerd beeld over islam in een context van toenemende islamofobie. We doen dit door van binnenuit en op opbouwende manier bijdragen tot het erkennen en bespreekbaar maken van diversiteit.
De conferentie staat open voor alle personen en organisaties die interesse hebben in Islam, gender, seksuele oriëntatie en moslimfeminisme.

Le 10, 11 et 12 decembre 2011, Merhaba organise la conférence internationale “CALEM BRUSSELS 2011” sous le thème « Féminité, masculinité, diversité des genres et des sexualités : l’islam comme une culture inclusive, une spiritualité de paix universelle ».
Cette conference est organisée en partenariat avec TIC ( The Inner Circle, Afrique du Sud ) et en collaboration avec Bedaya (Egypte- Soudan).
A cette conférence CALEM BRUSSELS 2011 participeront des intervenants de renommée internationale spécialistes en matière de diversité culturelle et sexuelle:
Amina Wadud (USA), professeur universitaire américaine, partisane d’un féminisme islamique. Elle a dit: « L’oppression des sexes est (…) contraire à l’islam et il incombe à ceux qui sont conscients de la complexité même de l’existence humaine de créer une réalité vivante qui défie l’oppression des sexes ou toute autre forme d’oppression fondée sur la race, la classe sociale, l’ethnie ou l’orientation sexuelle ».

Muhsin Hendricks (Afrique du Sud), spécialiste de l’islam. Il a une formation en arabe classique et a suivi des études islamiques à l’Université des études islamiques de Karachi, au Pakistan (1990-1994). Il est le premier imam au monde à avoir assumé publiquement son homosexualité, il est fondateur de The Inner Circle et il est consultant en terme de diversité cultuelle et sexuelle. Hendricks est un militant pour les droits de l’Homme spécialement pour les questions de genres et de diversité sexuelle en islam. http://www.theinnercircle.org.za

Avec cette conference, nous souhaitons contribuer à une representation pacifiste de l’islam dans un contexte d’islamophobie croissant et contribuer à permettre aux musulmans inclusifs, en particulier les individus LGBTQIA d’entre eux, de concilier leurs croyances, leurs affects, leurs genres et leurs sexualités.
Cette conférence est ouverte à toutes les personnes et à toutes les organisations intéressées par les thèmes de l’Islam , du genre, de l’orientation sexuelle et du féminisme islamique.

Merhaba organizes the international CALEM BRUSSELS 2011 conference on 10, 11 and 12 December 2011. The subject of the conference is ‘Femininity, masculinity, gender and sexual diversity: Islam as an inclusive culture, a spirituality of universal peace’. This conference will be realized with the support of The Inner Circle (South Africa) and in collaboration with Bedayaa (Egypt-Sudan), feminist and inclusive Muslims.
We are happy to welcome several international guest speakers, among whom:

With this conference we want to contribute to the development of a peaceful representation of Islam , empower inclusive Muslims and especially LGBTQI muslims and share knowledge and experience with professionals and all those interested in the matter.
The conference is open to all individuals and organizations that are interested in Islam, gender, sexual orientation and muslimfeminism.
