Belgian COVID policy now prescribes:
- Maximum 1 close contact per month;
- A close contact = a contact closer than 1.5m without a mask;
- Tele-working is strongly advised.

These politicans on a Belgian COVID press conference certainly do not keep enough distance to prevent virus transmissions.
They already broke the rules on video by being in close proximity to another without proper mask protection. Even though this proximity was absolutely unnecessary to host a press conference. Further more, one should never put one’s mask on a table in a public setting with other people, certainly not one where other people speak without masks.
If you want to protect yourself, wear an N95 or FFP+ mask, and do not take it off every time you speak.
Belgian TV personalities lead equally by bad examples. The general population copies their example.
Will there be fines? Will there be resignations? Do COVID-19 policies not count for politicians?
Will this risky behaviour influence
- how many employers will encourage/allow teleworking
- if people will wear masks at work?
- if people will get many/high fines or not
- how many close contacts people will take?
I think so. Politicians are examples and set the tone. If they don’t take the rules seriously, that is a big issue.

Deze politici houden zeker niet voldoende afstand om geen virusoverdracht te garanderen.
Deze personen hebben de regels op de persconferentie reeds overtreden want zij zijn op video reeds in close contact getreden zonder maskerbescherming. Overigens moet u zeker nooit, in een publieke ruimte waar anderen zijn, uw masker op het tafel leggen zoals de sprekers doen.
Als u zichzelf wil beschermen, draag een gecertifieerd N95 of FFP2+ masker, en zet het niet af telkens als u wil praten. Enorm slecht voorbeeld van deze voorbeeldfiguren.
U ziet tv-figuren evenzeer het slechte voorbeeld geven. De algemene bevolking kopiëert dit gedrag.

- 6 oktober 2020: Nauwe contacten: beperking tot maximum 3 nauwe contacten per maand. Een nauw contact is een contact dichter dan anderhalve meter zonder mondmasker. ?
- 16 oktober 2020: Knuffelcontacten (nauwe contacten) worden beperkt tot max. 1 persoon. ?
