Lockerbie kent iedereen, de Schotse plaats waar de PAN AM vlucht op 21 december 1988 neergestort is door explosieven.Libië werd valselijk beschuldigd van deze aanslag door de V.S en U.K. voor politieke winst namelijk Libië onder druk zetten om te zwichten voor de misdadige imperialistische eisen en belangen.(1) Elke week wordt in de media daarover gerapporteerd, ook omdat sinds een jaar de Libische geheimagent AL-megrahi door de Schotse autoriteiten werd vrijgelaten wegens een terminale ziekte. Nu maken de Amerikanen zich boos omdat Al-megrahi nog steeds in leven is.
Wat nooit in de media komt en wat veel mensen niet weten is dat er 6 maanden daarvoor een passagiervliegtuig van IRAN AIR, vlucht 655, onderweg van Teheran over de Perzische Golf naar Dubai, werd neergehaald door twee raketten van de Amerikaanse kruiser USS Vincennes. Hierbij kwamen alle 290 inzittenden om waaronder 66 kinderen. De naam van de piloot was Mohsen Rezaian en er waren 274 passagiers en 16 bemanningsleden aan boord. Er waren op de vlucht 38 buitenlanders afkomstig uit zes verschillenden landen.
Bovendien bevond de USS Vincennes zich binnen de Iraanse territoriale wateren.
De commander van de USS Vincennes William C. RogersIII en de verantwoordelijke voor de luchtafweer lieutenant Lustig kregen een lintje ‘legion of merit’ voor bewezen diensten.
“the president has reviewed US policy in de persian gulf, where our military forces are protecting vital interests of the free world”, lees USA verdedigt onder militaire bedreiging de maximale uitbuiting van de rijkdom van de wereld.
Uiteindelijk in 1996 voor het internationale gerechthof in Den Haag zijn de Verenigde Staten akkoord gegaan met de betaling van 61,8 miljoen dollar, 150 000 per slachtoffer en 300 000 per kostwinner.
Gaddafi heeft wel 10 miljoen dollar per slachtoffer voor de Lockerbie aanslag betaald.
Ik vind dat de Iraanse onschuldige slachtoffers dezelfde rechten, dezelfde aandacht en hetzelfde medeleven verdienen als de westerse slachtoffers. Dit onrecht moet worden erkend. Ik vind de stilte in de media over de slachtoffers van de vlucht 655 van IRAN AIR een soort van discriminatie. Dit toont nog maar eens aan dat we geen vrije media hebben.

The Iranian Parliament has released a full list of 26 US officials wanted by Tehran for various crimes ranging from rights violations to acts of terror to involvement in drug-trafficking.

Spokesmen for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Kazem Jalali said on Sunday that the motion to impose sanctions on and prosecute certain American officials was unanimously adopted.

The officials on the list include commander of US forces in Iraq Raymond Odierno, USS Vincennes Captain Will Rogers III, former FBI chief Thomas J. Pickard, and the former commander of the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay Geoffrey D. Miller, Jalali said.

Current Guantanamo commander Rear Admiral Jeffery Harbeson and former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld have also been sanctioned by Tehran, the Iranian lawmaker added.

Pickard is wanted for rights violations over his involvement in the siege of the Branch Davidian complex in Waco, Texas in 1993, and the death of over 80 of the cult’s followers. He is also wanted for human rights violations during his tenure as the CIA station chief in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2003.

Miller, who commanded the US prison at Guantanamo Bay between 2002 and 2007, is charged with torture of inmates, while Harbeson is charged in connection with human rights violations at the detention center since 2010.

Rogers will have sanctions imposed on him over the killing of 290 Iranian civilians onboard Iran Air Flight 655, which was shot down by the USS Vincennes on July 3, 1988.

Rumsfeld, who was the US secretary of defense from 1975 to 1977 and from 2001 to 2006, is also on the list for the killing of thousands of civilians in the US-led wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is also charged in connection with human rights violations and torture at two notorious prisons, Abu Ghraib in Iraq and Bagram in Afghanistan.

Paul Bremer, the US administrator in Iraq from May 2003 to June 2004, and General Tommy Franks, who led the US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, are also on the list of US officials that the Iranian parliament plans to impose sanctions on.

Earlier this month, Amnesty International censured the US for its indefinite detentions of suspects in Afghanistan and at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.

In October 2010, the United Nations Human Rights Council issued a report in which it expressed serious concern about human rights violations in the United States.
